Advantages of Yoga

Individuals who practice yoga consider it to be a force which unites the body, mind and the soul of a person with the aid of the yoga methods and exercises.

The primary belief of such individuals is that yoga combines the body and mind, and helps in attaining peace and healing sorrows, if they perform the yoga exercises in the appropriate atmosphere. It is because of such beliefs and results observed that even medical professionals regard yoga as a therapy, and suggest it as a cure for numerous ailments, especially regarding the nervous system.

 

Yoga is not a modern day concept and has been practiced for several hundred years, during which lots of people have greatly benefited from it. A lot of studies and researches have been conducted in the past to determine the effects and benefits of practicing yoga regularly. In particular, the major concentration has been on the advantages to the health of an individual. The reports which have been generated after extensive researches in this field have concluded yoga to be effective in 3 different aspects to the human body. It has improved a human's biochemical approach, and improved the person physiologically and psychologically.

If we consider the physiological benefits of yoga, it has proved to be beneficial in curing number of ailments related to blood pressure disorders, respiratory malfunctions and pulse rate decreases. Yoga has greatly contributed in maintaining the nervous system balance, endocrine function and gastrointestinal functions. Apart from this is has shown improvement in sleeping, depth perception, dexterity skills, reaction time, etc, in addition to the increase observed in the cardiovascular efficiency, immunity system, energy level, motions and endurance level in an individual.

Similarly, yoga has also contributed in the psychological aspects of a human's life by providing a feeling of well being, confidence, self realization, self or social acceptance and humanity apart from helping an individual in increasing their efficiency in terms of memory and concentration. Yoga has also been noticed to be helpful in enhancing the learning ability, managing mood swings, symbol coding and attention, etc.

Biochemical advantages of yoga can be related to increases in hemoglobin, serum protein and vitamin C within the body and it has also been recognized for decreasing the content of white blood cells, cholesterol, sodium and glucose in our bodies.

A lot of studies also point out that the exercises of yoga have been very effective in increasing the joint flexibility levels along with the lubrication levels of tendons, ligaments and joints. Amazing theories on which yoga methods work present a very interesting technique, in which the internal organs and glands within the body are massaged. This includes the prostate glands which are rarely ever stimulated otherwise. This concept has shown its benefits in preventing and controlling a number of diseases.

The various methods and exercises of yoga, which have been followed for ages now, have a high influence of the various addictions which the body is used to. In the process of massaging and stretching of the muscles while performing the yoga exercises, the body is uniformly supplied with maximum blood throughout, which results in eliminating the body toxins, and unwanted processes like ageing are controlled.

To conclude, it can be stated that yoga has a number of benefits attached to it, be it the connectivity between the mind and body or curing the physiological and psychological stresses. It not only strengthens the body of an individual but also the mind remains at peace.
